The cargo ship Morning Midas carrying 3,000 cars has sunk completely in the sea off the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. The sinking of the ship was officially announced by the London-based ship management company Zodiac Maritime. The cargo ship, which was carrying 3,000 cars to Mexico, sank in the North Pacific Ocean after a fire broke outa few weeks ago.Since then, the ship has been sinking gradually andis now completely submerged.There were a total of 3,000 cars on board, 800 of which were electric cars.

The ship sank off the Aleutian Islands in Alaska,with no major pollution, London-based ship management company Zodiac Maritime said in a statement.However, a US Coast Guard spokesperson revealed that there was not much pollution released after this incident.Two salvage tugs equipped with pollution control equipment have been deployed there.
Another vessel rescued
A US Coast Guard spokesperson said that they received information that a fire had broken out on a transport vessel on June 3. They explained that there were 22 crew members on board at the time of the accident, and all of them escaped in lifeboats. They were rescued by another nearby merchant marine vessel at that time. They said that a large amount of smoke was seen at the stern of the vessel, as there were mostly electric vehicles.
They clarified that there was no major marine pollution after the accident. They said that precautions were taken to prevent the release of petroleum products or harmful chemicals into the sea. A US Coast Guard spokesperson revealed that there is no significant marine pollution seen at present.
