They then sent selfies of these protests directly to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The aggrieved residents said the government hasfailedto fulfil key promises, including waiving crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh, providing monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women under the Mahalakshmi scheme, distributing one tola gold to women and creating 2 lakh jobs.

Congress cheated the people

He lamented that the party had assured that these promises would be fulfilled within 100 days of coming to power. However, not even one of these promises has been fulfilled even after 18 months of coming to power. He also criticised the Congress government for not continuing welfare schemes such as KCR Kit, Poshan Kit, Raitu Bima and Raitu Bandhu launched by the previous BRS government. He said those schemes benefited every household. The Congress betrayed the people by abandoning its election promises and ongoing welfare programmes.

Expressing regret for voting for the Congress, the villagers said that they have now realised their mistake. They said that the Congress made big but impossible promises during the elections and succeeded in getting the mandate of the people. But it betrayed every section of the society by not fulfilling its promises. Especially the farmers are suffering the consequences of its lies.

New BJP president should press for President's approval for reservation

The Telangana Assembly and Legislative Council have passed two Bills providing 42 per cent reservation for backward classes in education, jobs and local bodies. In this regard, Telangana Jagruthi president and BRS MLC K Kavitha urged the newly appointed BJP Telangana president N Ramachander Rao to press for immediate Presidential assent. In an open letter to Ramachander Rao, Kavitha reminded that backward class reservation is a long pending and legitimate demand of OBCs, especially in Telangana. She informed that after continuous agitations led by Telangana Jagruthi and United Phule Front (UPF), the state government introduced and passed the two Bills in both the Houses of the Legislature.

Now the responsibility of getting the bills approved is on Ramchander Rao

The BRS MLC said the responsibility of getting these Bills approved from the Centre now rests with Ramachander Rao and urged him to convince the Central government to get the Bills approved without any delay. He asked him to send a message to the backward class people that the BJP stands in support of their fair share in political and social representation and get the Bills approved.
