Fauja Singh: NRI arrested for hitting Fauja Singh with a car

World-renowned marathon runner Fauja Singhhas died in a hit-and-run accident near Jalandhar in Punjab. Known worldwide as the 'Turbaned Tornado', he was 100 years old. Yet his perseverance in walking is an inspiration to many. Fauja Singh was participating in his daily walking routine when a speeding car suddenly hit him. The car driver fled without stopping after the accident on the road on the outskirts of Jalandhar. Fauja Singh was seriously injured in the accident.

Death before being taken to the hospital

Immediately after the accident ,locals tried to take Fauja Singh to the hospital. But the doctors declared him dead. Fans and sports lovers were deeply emotional after hearing this news. The police identified the accused through CCTV footage and eyewitnesses in the area. The police arrested a 30-year-old NRI. It is reported that he had recently returned to Punjab from abroad. A hit-and-run case has been registered against him. He is currently being interrogated.
