During the second Test match of the India-England Test series, the fact that young Tamil Nadu cricketer Sai Sudarshan, who made his debut in the first Test,wasnot given a chance in the second match has led to a debate among fans. Karun Nair in the first Test match

KarunNair, who returned to the Indian team after about 8 years in place of Sai Sudarshan,batted at number three. This is said to be the reason for removing Sai Sudarshan from the team. Karun Nair can usually bat at number three or four. He also played as an opener. However, in the first Test match, Karun Nair came to the crease at number six in the batting order. While Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul were the openers, Sai Sudarshan batted at number three and Shubman Gill at number four.Rishabh Pant came to the crease at number five. So, since changes could not be made in this batting order, Karun Nair got a place at number six.

Situation to be removed

Sai Sudarshan had not played in the middle order before. In this context, it was necessary to remove Sai Sudarshan to give Karun Naira chance to bat in a suitable position. Moreover, there was a plan to include all-rounders in the back row, and this was implemented. Accordingly, Sai Sudarshan was removed and Karun Nair came to the crease at number three. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was included at number six. However, this plan did not work much. Karun Nair scored only 31 runs on the first day of the second Test match.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, who came in at number six, was out for just one run. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 87 runs and Shubman Gill scored 114 runs on the first day of play.
