SIT: SIT notices to Vijayasai Reddy once again

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has further accelerated its investigation into the massive corruption in the liquorpolicy of Andhra Pradesh. In this context, it has again issued notices to former Rajya Sabha member and senior YSRCP leader V. Vijayasai Reddy. The SIT has ordered him to appear before the inquiry at 10 am on July 12. It is known that Vijayasai Reddy appeared before the SIT in April.

Bribery through policy changes the source of allegations

There are allegations that during the previous YSRCPgovernment, changes were made in the liquor policy, changes were made in favor of some popular liquor brands, and huge bribes were taken for this. The names of several key people are coming out in connection with this corruption. Recently, the SIT included a person named Purushottam Varun Kumar as the 40th accused. After the investigation revealed that Varun Kumar played a key role in this matter, the authorities issued lookout notices for him.

ED also enters the field money laundering angle under investigation

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has stepped in to look into the financial aspects of the case. It has registered a case under the PMLA Act and is focusing on hawala transactions and illegal money transfers. The investigation is going deeper to find out how many people were involved in the large-scale financial transactions in the name of changes in the liquor policy. Sources believe that notices are likely to be issued to more political leaders in the coming days.
