Many significant stories originate from tips provided by our readers. We are constantly on the lookout for valuable information concerning the companies and products that influence our daily lives, insights into government agencies that regulate technology and the environment, and stories that highlight the intersection of technology and humanity. Your evidence is crucial: personal experiences or critical documents will be more impactful than mere speculation. If you've come across something that deserves public attention, we encourage you to share it with us.
How to Submit Tips
The simplest method to reach us is via email. You can send your tips to the general email address: tips@theverge.com.
If you have concerns about potential repercussions, please refrain from using your work email, Wi-Fi, or any work-related devices.
Signal
Another secure option for submitting tips is through the Signal app, which provides encrypted messaging and calling features. While Signal keeps track of your number and your last access time, it does not store information about your contacts. Make sure to use a personal phone rather than a work device. You can download Signal from your app store.
Specific email addresses and Signal accounts for individual staff members can be accessed on their author pages listed in the staff directory.
Depending on your version of Signal, you may need to add contacts before starting a conversation. Once the chat is initiated, you can remove the contact from your list. For enhanced security, the Freedom of the Press Foundation provides additional guidelines on how to optimize your Signal settings.
Security Best Practices
