Godavari: Floods in Godavari

The authorities are lifting 48 gates in the Polavaram project and releasing about 1.95 lakh cusecs of water downstream. The authorities are taking precautionary measures to control the flood flow.

Heavy flood water reaches Dhavaleswaram barrage

The flood situation at DhavaleswaramGodavariBridge is also clearly visible. The barrage is currently receiving a flood flow of 2.05 lakh cusecs. Officials are on alert as this type of flow is likely to affect the water reserves. The risk of flooding will be higher in low-lying areas and areas with light elevations.
