Modern Farming: Healthy Crops

Modern Farming: Renai Medicity Hospital is located in Palarivattam, Ernakulam district,Kerala. There, patients are provided with medicines along with fresh vegetables at low prices. They are given to the poor for free. Vegetables are harvested on the spot for the patients and staff to cook. For this, Renai staff are growing vegetables on the roof top of the eight-story hospital. With the cultivation they do in the three thousand square feet of land, tomatoes, okra, beera, donda, goruchikkudu, spinach, cabbage.. and other vegetables are grown.
While the canteen is used for cooking, the rest is distributed free of charge to the staff and the poor. And the remaining is provided to those who buy medicines at the pharmacy at nominal prices. The hospital management, which has specially appointed staff for this purpose, has set up a roof top kitchen garden to provide food cooked with organic vegetables to the patients. The waste is converted into compost and used in the kitchen garden. The vegetable garden is used to provide a pleasant environment for patients who are hospitalized for days due to various problems. The idea of this hospital, which is growing organic vegetables that cure diseases on the one hand and promote health on the other, is admirable!

As soon as you enter the General Hospital in Kochi, you will see fish swimming in water tanks. Vegetable plants are seen in pipes next to them. Mosquitoes are abundant in ponds and wherever there are plants. In fact, if there is a mosquito infestation
in the hospital environment, it will be a great inconvenience for the patients. However, to solve that problem, the staff of the General Hospital are growing vegetables and fish in the vicinity of the hospital using hydroponic and aquaponic methods. Moreover, guppy fish, which eat mosquito larvae and eggs, are being grown in the tank. The water in which the fish are grown is used for hydroponic cultivation, and the waste water from there is being diverted back to the fish tank. In this way, the plants are cultivated without the need for fertilizers and the waste of water is being prevented. The hospital staff is also getting rid of the mosquito infestation. Various types of vegetables and fish are cultivated in this way and provided free of cost to the people working there. On the other hand, the surroundings are being kept clean. The mosquito problem is being effectively solved through cultivation.

Doctors plant
trees Doctors work hard to save patients. In that process, they face immense stress. It is very important for them to get rid of that stress. The 'Naratama and Emergency Care' hospital in Bengaluru has come up with an idea for that. That government hospital is cultivating trees with the help of its roof-top doctors. Emergency cases are constantly coming to that government hospital. On one hand, there is a shortage of doctors. On the other hand, there is an influx of patients. In this process, the workload of the doctors is increasing. As a result, they are under immense stress, so to get rid of that problem, the higher authorities have made all arrangements to grow various flowers, fruits and vegetables. A green environment reduces stress and increases mental happiness. Therefore, while the doctors are on duty, they try to take care of the plants and harvest flowers, fruits and vegetables at some point. The vegetables and fruits that are harvested there are given to the doctors and the flowers are sent to local temples.(Modern Farming)
